This Little Baby's Morning

Although these board books break no new ground, their generous size (approximately 8 9) may appeal to toddlers. Within, rhyming text accompanies cleanly drawn scenes of everyday happenings. Morris's verse is pretty much standard issue (``One more story, / a cuddle and a hug-- / this little baby's / warm and snug''), while Breeze's is somewhat more rhythmic (``This little baby / plays all day-- / blows on a trumpet, / drums on a tray''). Pains have been taken to distinguish the various volumes: they have different palettes and different main characters (a boy, a girl, an African American and a unisex infant). Aside from the format, however, there is little to distinguish the series itself. Ages 1-3. (Apr.)
