Mourning Gloria

This third in this mystery series featuring Lady Margaret Priam (following A Perfect Day for Dying and It's Her Funeral) finds Lady Margaret swallowed up by a pack of overdressed and underworked society ladies. Organized by Gloria Anton (rumored to have tried to run down her ex-husband and his younger wife), these ladies are planning a fund-raising designer show house--in the same house where Gloria's brother died under mysterious circumstances 40 years ago. In this hilarious sendup of high society, Lady Margaret soon sees through the pampered and polished veneer of these society mavens into a tangle of lies and hatreds. Lady Margaret's wry approach to crime solving (aided by her circle of urbane friends) makes for an enjoyable, lighthearted immersion into sophisticated society. (Sept.)
