Acting as the ringmaster, she issues commands and countercommands: ""Come in, let's play; stay down; don't swing; don't fight; don't scratch!"" The last page shows the child hugging the cats amidst the shambles of her living room. The soft watercolor illustrations show the hilarious antics of the felines as the key words are repeated. An excellent vocabulary builder with a focus on action verbs.
