PreS-Frankel's gender-specific series titles were first published in 1979 in Israel. She does a good job of describing the potty-training process from the child's point of view, using a calm and steadying tone. This new edition is flawlessly translated. While Frankel's original illustrations seem quaint and outdated in 2002 (cloth diapers? a porcelain potty?) they still hold a great deal of visual appeal. The varying bright colors of the backgrounds set off the simply rendered characters. This translated classic belongs in any collection or household serving parents and toddlers.Maria Otero-Boisvert, ""Criticas""
