I Am Who I Am

In this pensive board book hailing from Switzerland, a little girl examines her reflection in the mirror. "Am I me?/ Or am I you?/ Am I one?/ Or am I two?" She and three other children, outlined in colored pencil, play with puppets, masks, and art materials ("Shall I wear a mask today?/ Or pretend to float away?") as they contemplate their feelings, whims, and personalities. In the end, the girl from the opening scene decides she's "everything that I can be. I'm the person who is me!" Playfully affirming, while encouraging self-exploration. Ages 1–up. (July)
