What Love Tastes Like

Aspiring chef Tiffany Matthews is en route to a prestigious internship in Rome when a thief swipes her purse. Handsome restaurateur Nick Rollins comes to her rescue, but despite the sizzling heat between them, Tiffany doesn't want to be rescued—certainly not by Nick, who's too much like the workaholic father who broke her heart. And yet, a month later, there she is in Los Angeles, a sous chef at his new trend-setting restaurant, Taste. There's plenty of steam and spice in the kitchen and the bedroom as the pair's romance follows a predictable on-again, off-again pattern, with a standard-issue scheming ex-girlfriend complicating matters. Then Nick finds himself pitted against Tiffany's estranged father in a business deal and matters take a fresh turn. Day (Lies Lovers Tell) writes with zest and sensual appeal. The descriptions of food edge the bedroom scenes, but not by much. (Sept.)
