It's Vacation Time

On a hot day, Little Nye, a gray animal who resembles a cross between a bear and a bunny, freezes ice pops while his friends—also indeterminate species—pack a suitcase for a faraway vacation. Finding they can't close the suitcase, they have to take some items out (like a ball, shovel, and pail), and they decide to take an imagination-fueled staycation instead, with Little Nye providing the ice pops. A combination of gouache painting and digital collage, the friends' and the assorted beach-ready objects have a cut-paper feel that's offset by clean, cool backdrops, creating a satisfying mix of calm and commotion.
