The Resurrection Report: A Journalist Investigates the Most Debated Event in History

William Proctor. B&H Publishing Group, $13.99 (224pp) ISBN 978-0-8054-6372-9

Proctor makes a show of applying the standards of journalistic reporting in order to make the case that the Resurrection in fact occurred. Adopting the posture of a newsman investigating the Resurrection as though it were just another news story, he applies what he calls the ""Acid Test for Newsworthiness"" to the Resurrection story. He finds that it meets the criteria of ""Impact,"" ""Timeliness,"" ""Prominence,"" ""Proximity,"" ""Conflict,"" ""Surprise"" and ""Currency."" Undeterred by the problem of sources and the difficulties inherent in fact-checking the alleged word of God, Proctor writes his own news report of the Resurrection, adopting all of the surface trappings of journalism to cloak his conviction in the garb of objectivity.
