This extensive collection of more than 250 poems, a companion to the “iF Poems” app, offers a broad sampling of mostly American and European poems with quiet black and yellow spot illustrations that integrate bits of type. Esiri and Kelly group the works thematically into nine sections including verse about growing up, magic, and more. Humorous and nonsense poems include work by Roald Dahl and Edward Lear, while poems on friendship and love feature classics by Emily Bronte and W.B. Yeats, as well as a surprise addition of a poem by filmmaker Tim Burton. Each poem gets a brief introduction, describing its history or use of a poetic device (a glossary of terms is included).
