A Day at the Farm: A Book of ABCs

Short, alliterative statements drive this board book abecedary set on a farm. Mack (3 Falafels in My Pita) uses bright colors and flattened, geometric shapes to bring a cheery, toylike atmosphere to the setting and characters as readers get a sense of the animals, produce, and activities typical to a farm: on facing pages for M and N, “Farmer Al sells milk at the market” while “The new bird naps in a nest.” (Large capital letters appear on each page.)
