A Haunted Twist of Fate

Stacey Coverstone. Five Star, $25.95 (280p) ISBN 978-1-4328-2541-6

Unraveling a mystery in a haunted saloon has never been more romantic. Running from heartache, Shay Brennan arrives in Hill City, S.D., and is immediately drawn to the Buckhorn Saloon. Built in 1885, the historic Badlands bar bears its share of secrets and spirits. After Shay purchases the place from hunky cowboy Colt Morgan, her first evening in the building jolts her into the world of the supernatural. A ghostly woman appears to her, asking for help. Skeptic Colt is eager to lend a hand, but battling their feelings for one another is nearly as dangerous as battling an evil entity who wants Shay to leave well enough alone. The paranormal takes a backseat to Shay and Colt’s family lives and burgeoning romance. Readers who don’t mind more spark and less spook will enjoy this pleasant, albeit slightly formulaic, novel.
