When Beth Fanelli arrives at a friend’s wedding reception to find her ex-husband, Finn McNabb, sitting at her table, she tries to act like a mature adult and treat him with polite indifference. Unfortunately for her, a weekend of wedding-related activities is extended indefinitely when Finn breaks his leg and is invited to recuperate at the newlyweds’ house, where Beth is also staying. On the one hand, Beth and Finn’s time together leads them to remember every reason they split, from divided priorities to aggravating quirks. But they also begin to remember those things that they first saw in one another, and their romantic feelings slowly reawaken. The story portrays two convincingly flawed but likeable characters who find each other’s faults both provocative and exciting, as they try to decide whether a second chance at marriage is worth the risk. This is a perfect light summer read for contemporary romance fans. (Aug.)
