Another Crowd-Sourced Cookbook
Food bloggers now have another opportunity to get in on a crowd-sourced cookbook: Andrews McMeel is inviting bloggers to submit recipes and photos for possible inclusion in a cookbook it will publish next fall. From now until February 28, 2010, bloggers can submit their pics, writing and original recipes to Foodista.com. Anyone can see the submissions on www.foodista.com/blogbook and vote for their favorites. Editors at AMP and Foodista.com will take the public’s feedback into consideration and pick approximately 100 entries for inclusion in the book—and each winner will receive a complimentary copy of the cookbook.

NYT Looks at Canal House
Following Canal House Cooking’s second-place showing at the Piglet cookbook tournament two weeks ago, the New York Times profiled authors Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton. The article talks about their pioneering food photography, unusual business model (they release an “issue”—which is more like a book—three times a year, have no parent company, no advertising and no distribution network other than independent bookstores and the Internet), and, of course, their delicious food.
