Pablo Defendini, producer at Tor.com, an experimentalMacmillan Web site/publishing venture focused on launching original sciencefiction, fantasy prose and Web comics, is leaving the company to take a job atOpen Road Integrated Media, former HarperColllins CEO Jane Friedman's new multi-platformprint and digital publishing venture. The move is effective April 23.

Defendini announced the move on his blog, The New Sleekness, and said he willbecome an Interactive Producer at OpenRoad Integrated Media, working on "all sorts of wonderfully interesting andexciting new projects (which I can't talk about publicly. Alas)."

Defendini has been praised for a variety of innovativeventures on Tor.com. Most recently, Tor.com acquired several book length webcomics. At the time he said the site was, "definitely not for business asusual."
