Dutton's Other Parker

The publisher has its own thriller author with a familiar name in Barbara Parker, and has just confirmed its faith in her ongoing series of Florida-based legal thrillers by signing her to a new three-book contract that will take her at least five years ahead. Executive editor Audrey LaFehr, who has handled Parker's work through eight outings so far, made the world rights deal for a significant sum to agent Richard Curtis. The latest in Parker's Suspicion series, which involves Miami attorney Gail Connor and defense lawyer Anthony Quintana, is Suspicion of Vengeance, just out, and one more is due under the old contract before the new one takes over.
