Burke to Head Sales at DK

Therese Burke, who was recently president of sales at HarperCollins, has been named v-p, director of sales and marketing at Dorling Kindersley. She succeeds Gary Gentel as part of the restructuring of DK that has already resulted in the resignation of DK president Danny Gurr (News, July 2). Burke had worked at Putnam for five years before joining HC in 1997, and she will report to Dick Heffernan, president of sales for adult hardcover and Penguin Putnam Young Readers.
