Women in Cyberspace

Calvin Reid -- Publishers Weekly, 4/8/1996

Yes, there are lots of women using the Internet. Yes, there are lots of sites devoted to women's interests. And, yes, Webwatch has checked out 11 a few of them, including Cybergrrls Webstation (http://www.cybergrrl.com/title.html), a very personal Web site with a broad range of information on health, domestic violence, media and more. Women's Wire (http://www.women.com/) is a polished site with an emphasis on women in business. Catt's Claws (http://worcester.lm.com/women/is/cattsclaws.html), a personal and lively feminist newsletter, Web 'zine and listserver, has information on local rape and domestic violence as well as legislative issues. There's also G-Spot (http://www.comeout.com/g-spot/) and Pleiades (http://www.pleiadesnet.com), which provide information as well as extensive virtual communities.
