Little, Brown Snags Berger Sequel

-- Publishers Weekly, 2/17/1997

Based on a partial manuscript, Little, Brown editor Roger Donald has paid a rumored $300,000 advance in a deal negotiated by agent Don Congdon, for The Return of Little Big Man, the sequel to the 1964 Thomas Berger classic that was also the basis for the 1970 move starring Dustin Hoffman. Donald told PW that the book will be a continuation of the 102-year-old-narrator's experiences, possibly his European tour with Wild Bill Hicock and his crush on George Custer's wife. No pub date is yet set, but Donald expects it will mostly likely be two years from now.
