Putnam Gets Touched by an Angel

After the success of Patti Labelle's Don't Block the Blessings, it's not surprising that Putnam has signed on for another inspirational autobiography by a female African-American entertainer, this time from singer, ordained minister and "Touched by an Angel" star Della Reese. Reese's Angels Along the Way will be shaped around the "angels" who have helped her through rough times -- the central theme of her CBS-TV show, which attracts an impressive 23 million viewers per week. Putnam vice-president and senior editor Stacy Creamer acquired the book from William Morris agent Dan Strone and plans an October 1997 publication.
