$700K for 'Shopping'

A proposal for a book on retailing titled The Science of Shopping, by consultant Paco Underhill, who with his company Envirosell has worked with, among other companies, Waldenbooks, was the subject of a heated auction conducted by Writers' Representatives Inc. agent Glen Hartley. S&S v-p Alice Mayhew made the winning offer, rumored to be $700K, and expects the manuscript within a year.
