Political Punch

by Judy Quinn -- Publishers Weekly, 5/5/1997

Based on a rough beginning draft, Hyperion editor Maureen O'Brien has signed "PrimeTime Live" correspondent Nancy Collins to a six-figure deal (reportedly $150,000) for her first novel, a roman a clef about the media/political worlds, to be delivered in a year. Although the Daily News recently reported that Ed Rollins was at one point attached to the project, William Morris agents Joni Evans and Michael Carlisle told PW that a fiction collaboration idea fell apart more than six months ago. Carlisle told PW that Rollins will be discussing a nonfiction followup to Bare Knuckles and Back Rooms with option holder Broadway Books.
