Leary Gets an Agent

Barbara Zitwer reports to PW that she's now the official literary agent for the estate of Timothy Leary, taking over from Leary friend and writer Douglas Rushkoff, who negotiated that six-figure deal for HarperEdge's forthcoming Leary tome, Design for Dying. "It's not often an agent reps an author who's circling the earth," she said, referring to Leary's ashes aboard a rocket. Zitwer is currently digging through a "treasure trove" of material, and has just submitted Smart Loving, a previously unpublished guide to sex that Leary wrote in the '80s -- "basically how to and why not," said Zitwer.
