Barnes &Noble and PlanetOut, the gay and lesbian online serivce, have joined forces to launch a bookselling website to celebrate Gay Pride Month and focus on gay and lesbian titles.

Pride Books can be accessed through both B&N.com (www.barnesandnoble.com), B&N on AOL and PlanetOut (www.planetout.com).

The site features titles of interest to gay, lesbian, bixsexual and transgender readers and the books can purchased online through the B&N site at the usual discounts.

Steve Riggio, B&N CEO, said the partnership would provide "convenient ordering and delivery to one of AOL's and the web's most active, engaged an educated communities."

The books are organized in categories that include bestsellers, fiction and nonfiction by sexual interest, titles focusing on gay and lesbian online resources as well as celebrity picks by the likes of lesbian activist Candace Gingrich and actress Guin Turner. The site will also feature live chats with gay authors including Michelangelo Signorile and Christopher Bram.
