Eisner Autobiography Subject to Subpoena

by Judy Quinn -- Publishers Weekly, 6/26/1997

In an action that will no doubt ultimately help book sales, the tapes and other materials involved with Random House's upcoming autobiography by Michael Eisner, cowritten by Tony Schwartz, will be subp naed as part of the $250 million breach of contract lawsuit former Disney exec Jeffrey Katzenberg has filed against Eisner, reported The New York Observer's Nikki Finke yesterday. The trial is expected to begin on November 18, a month after Random House had originally planned to publish the book, formally signed up last March. Random House spokesperson Carol Schneider, however, had told PW that the previously announced October publication most likely was going to be delayed and not because of the legal action. Random House publisher Harold Evans, who will personally edit the book, could not be reached for comment.
