by Judy Quinn -- Publishers Weekly, 6/30/1997

Hyperion publisher Bob Miller was the million-dollar winner in an auction conducted by agent Carol Mann for a book based on a news-making 25-year-followup of children of divorce by Judith Wallerstein, co-author of the bestselling Second Chances and Surviving the Breakup. Senior editor Maureen O'Brien made a reported $500,000 offer to win a memoir by Malachy McCourt (brother of Frank) entitled A Monk Swimming, originally signed at Marlowe.
