Gelbman Named President of Berkley

Leslie Gelbman, publisher and editor-in-chief at Berkley, has been given the additional title of company president. In her new role, Gelbman will be responsible for all the publishing operations of Berkley, Jove and Ace mass market paperback and trade paperback efforts. She will also continue to acquire titles. With the exception of sales, all departments will report directly to Gelbman. The sales department, as well as Gelbman, will report to David Shanks, Penguin Putnam's COO and president of the Putnam Berkley Group.
