PW: Riger to Senior Penguin Spot

Riger told PW his job will involve extending the Penguin brand name, especially into such new, recently announced areas as the marketing of classical records and TV drama shows under the Penguin name. He will also spearhead Penguin's efforts to maximize the sales of its books online across all divisions.

Riger began his publishing career in 1981 at Book-of-the-Month Club, and later headed the Doubleday Book &Music Clubs for a short time before joining Market Partners in 1990.
