Hot Deals: HarperCollins Acquires Book on Asia Nukes

HarperCollins senior v-p J lle Delbourgo unfortunately had bombs literally going off in India and Pakistan to confirm the timeliness of her latest nonfiction acquisition: The West at Bay: The Rise of Asian Nuclear Power, to be written by Yale professor Paul Bracken, whose The Command and Control of Nuclear Forces was a strategic classic published by Yale University Press in 1983. Delbourgo bought the book after it was put on multiple submission by Bracken's agent, Kim Witherspoon, and says it will be "accessible and important." She plans to rush the book for a January publication.
