One of the week's top 25 trade paper titles is David Guterson's award-winning Snow Falling on Cedars. The novel's return to bestsellerdom is due to Universal Films: last month, it took full-page ads in several publications -- including PW, the New York Times Book Review and the Washington Post Book World -- announcing completion of photography on the movie, due out Christmas Day. Vintage has stickered the book with a "soon to be a major motion picture" tag and booksellers are once again featuring the title in front-of-store displays. Sales for June doubled over the previous month, and July's sales were ahead of June. Copies in print total 2.5 million; a movie tie-in edition is due in November.
