Szabla to Head Scholastic Press

Elizabeth Szabla has joined Scholastic as editorial director of the Scholastic Press imprint. Szabla was editor-in-chief at Lee &Low for six years. Previously, she was managing editor of American Bookseller.

She replaces Brenda Bowen, who moved to Simon &Schuster's Children's Publishing Division as v-p and publisher of its hardcover and paperback imprints.

With Szabla's departure, Philip Lee, cofounder and publisher, has resumed editorial responsibilities at Lee &Low.
