Authors Sing Out On New CD

San Francisco media escort Kathi Goldmark, founder of the Rock Bottom Remainders, a band composed of such writers as Stephen King, Amy Tan and Dave Barry, has produced a new double CD called Stranger Than Fiction, to be released by Oglio Records in March. Soloists include Norman Mailer (singing "Alimony Blues," which he wrote himself), Ken Follett, Robert Reich, Ridley Pearson and a duet by Maya Angelou and Jessica Mitford. Musical backup is provided by Jeff Baxter, country singer Jerry Jeff Walker, and Warren Zevon. Royalties will benefit the PEN Writers Fund.

The CD contains 32 songs by 48 authors and will be sold in bookstores and retail record stores beginning March 23.
