Hallett Named Rizzoli Publisher

Marta Hallett, formerly v-p and publisher of Smithmark, a subsidiary of U.S. Media Holdings, has been named v-p and publisher of Rizzoli Publications. She succeeds Solveig Williams, who has left the company to pursue other interests.

Rizzoli also announced the appointment of Steven J. Pincus as director of sales, marketing and new business development. Pincus was formerly the publisher of Pincushion Press and president of P.E.I. International.

Hallett was instrumental in the recent launch of Smithmark's S Editions imprint. She began her career working in illustrated book publishing with Harper &Row and was publisher at HarperCollins's Collins division in New York. She also launched Running Heads Inc., a co-editions company, which she codirected until its acquisition by the U.K.'s Quarto Group, in 1993.
