Maleska Rejoins Veronis, Suhler

Martin Maleska, who joined Simon &Schuster in 1995 and most recently served as president of S&S's international and business and professional group, has joined the investment banking firm of Veronis, Suhler &Associates. Maleska was named adviser, managing director at VS&A, where he will develop investment opportunities with the company's recently closed $1-billion media buyout fund.

Maleska, who previously worked at VS&A from 1991 to 1995, will focus on the areas of electronic commerce and database information, market research, reference directories, professional book publishing, journals, training and conferences. Maleska is the second S&S executive to join VS&A within the month; former S&S director of business development Mitch Haber also recently moved to the firm.
