1999 Firecracker Book Awards

It's FAB Time again. That means it's time to vote on which alternative titles will receive this year's Firecracker Alternative Book Awards, which are presented each year at a ceremony and party at Book Expo.

The awards honor books on the "unmapped edges of contemporary culture," said John Davis of K n Book Distributors, one of the FAB sponsors and organizers. This year's party will be held at the El Rey theater in Los Angeles on Friday, April 30, and will feature the gyrations of El Vez, the "Latin Elvis."

The deadline for voting for your favorite alternative-press titles is April 1. Paper ballots are available through K n at (800) 254-8662, or vote online, at www.thecomicstore.com.
