Joy Williams Wins $30K Rea Prize

The Rea Award for the Short Story, a $30,000 annual prize, was given this year to Joy Williams, author of two short story collections and three novels. Williams's two short story collections are Taking Care (Random House, 1985) and Escapes (Vintage, 1991). She was also nominated for a National Book Award in 1973 for a novel, State of Grace.
