Larousse to Do Own Distribution

-- Publishers Weekly, 6/7/1999

Effective June 1, 1999, Larousse Kingfisher Chambers ended its distribution agreement with Houghton Mifflin; instead, it consolidated its trade distribution through in-house and commission sales groups and Mercedes Distribution Center. The company indicated it decided to change its distribution method after HM chose to focus on full-service clients needing sales representation in all trade channels. Larousse will now be represented by five regional commission groups and will continue to service house accounts.

Effective immediately, ordering information can be obtained by calling (800) 497-1657. After August 31, 1999, returns should be sent to Larousse, c/o Mercedes Distribution Center, 62 Imlay St., Brooklyn, N.Y. 11231.
