PW: Garrison Named Knopf P try Editor

Deborah Garrison, senior editor at the New Yorker, has been appointed p try editor at Knopf. Garrison, who will move to Knopf February 7, succeeds the late Harry Ford, Knopf's longtime p try editor, who died earlier this year (News, Mar. 15). Garrison will also serve as a senior editor at Knopf's Pantheon Books imprint.

Garrison is the author of A Working Girl Can't Win and Other P ms; her p try and literary criticism has appeared in numerous publications. Garrison also served as a judge on the p try panel for last year's National Book Awards.
