PW: Havas in Two U.S. Deals

Keep an eye on Havas, the media sector of the global Vivendi conglomerate, an increasingly active player on the American scene. In a recent deal, Havas MediMedia, the health division, has acquired two U.S. companies--StayWell, until now a Times Mirror subsidiary, and 3V Health, an independent--thereby becoming a leader in patient information distributed via doctors, managed care organizations and other enterprises both in print and electronic formats. With the new acquisition, U.S. business represents 38% of total Havas MediMedia activity, while health information accounts for 14% of all Havas group sales.
