PW: Two Honored by NBCC

The National Book Critics Circle has named former New Yorker film critic Pauline Kael and Lawrence Ferlinghetti, p t and founder of City Lights Books, joint winners of the Ivan Sandrof lifetime achievement award.

NBCC is also sponsoring two panel discussions. "Criticism in the Real World," featuring Jabari Asim of the Washington Post, Laura Miller from Salon.com and Elizabeth Taylor from the Chicago Tribune, will be held March 11 at 8 p.m. at 27 W. 44th St., in NYC. "Our Industry in the Electronic Age" will be moderated by Nation critic Art Winslow on March 13 at noon at NYU's Tishman Auditorium, 40 Washington Square South.
