Heffers Closes Bookshop

by Julia Eccleshare -- Publishers Weekly, 1/7/2002

Blackwell's has announced the closure of Heffers Children's Bookshop on Trinity Street in Cambridge, England, one of the leading children's bookshops in the country. Claiming that the overhead has become too expensive in this high-profile location, Blackwell's is moving the shop so that it can become a "shop within a shop" in its Grafton Street Family Bookshop, located in a shopping center to the east of town. Heffers Children's Bookshop has been a center of excellence for 30 years, under such distinguished managers as Fiona Waters, Lindsay Fraser and Kate Agnew.
