Bradford's Big Move

by John F. Baker -- Publishers Weekly, 4/8/2002

Barbara Taylor Bradford, who has been writing bestsellers since before many of us were in the book business, has moved her extremely reliable franchise over to St. Martin's Press, where president and publisher Sally Richardson plunked down very large money (certainly well into eight figures) for three new books. For many years, Bradford had been published by Carole Baron at Delacorte/Dell, and more recently had been with sister imprint Doubleday, publisher of her latest bestseller, Three Weeks in Paris. The North American rights deal was made with Bradford's longtime agent, Mort Janklow, and Richardson professed herself delighted, saying she was "happy as a clam" and thought Bradford had "even huger potential for the future." Jennifer Enderlin will be her SMP editor, and the first new book, untitled as yet, will appear in the winter of 2003.
