Marking 100 Weeks

by Daisy Maryles -- Publishers Weekly, 4/15/2002

Don Miguel Ruiz's The Four Agreements marks 100 consecutive weeks on PW's trade paperback list, an achievement worth noting. The book, published by Amber-Allen, made it onto the bestseller charts back in May 2000, right after Oprah featured the author, book and his philosophy ("Be impeccable with your word, don't take anything personally, don't make assumptions, always do your best") in the premiere issue of her O magazine. There are about two million copies in print of the trade paper edition; 100,000 copies in print of the cloth gift edition; 72,000 copies of the audio book; and 95,000 copies of Hay House's boxed set of Four Agreements Cards. The Four Agreements has been translated into 27 languages.
