Watson's 'DNA' for Knopf

by John F. Baker -- Publishers Weekly, 4/22/2002

Nobel Prize winner James D. Watson, who won the prize for his share in the discovery of DNA, will do a book for Knopf to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the breakthrough discovery in human genetics. George Andreou bought world rights in an illustrated book designed to accompany a five-part PBS series on the discovery next spring, tentatively titled DNA, in which Watson will explore the implications of the discovery and offer guesses as to what the future may hold in genetic research. The deal was negotiated with the author's lawyer, Michael Rudell.
