A Fast Bio for Berry

by John F. Baker -- Publishers Weekly, 4/26/2002

Shortly after becoming the first African-American to win a Best Actress Academy Award, Halle Berry is going to get a swiftly published bio of her own. Pocket Books senior editor Mitchell Ivers has signed Time senior editor Christopher John Farley to do such a book, to be published in mass market format as early as November. Farley, who has known Berry since her early days in show business, did the first national interview with her (in USA Today) 11 years ago; he is also the author of a quickie book on rock star Aaliyah, who died in a plane crash last year. Ivers bought world rights from agent Caron Knauer (the K in the Caron K agency), and will do the book to coincide with Berry's next film appearance, in a new James Bond movie.
