Kelly to Head HM Trade Division

Houghton Mifflin has found the successor to Wendy Strothman within its own ranks, promoting Theresa Kelly to senior v-p and head of the trade and reference division. Strothman announced last month that she was stepping down as head of the unit in July. Kelly, who assumes her new position July 1, has been with HM since 1982 and most recently served as corporate v-p and director of sales for the trade and reference division. The three recently named HM v-ps—Janet Silver, Andrea Davis Pinkney and Marge Berube (News, May 27)—who will report to Kelly, will report to Hans Gieskes, HM's newly appointed CEO.
