Management Shifts at B&N

Barnes & Noble has promoted Maureen O'Connell to executive v-p of finance and appointed Larry Zilavy to O'Connell's old position of chief financial officer. O'Connell, who joined B&N in 2000, will be responsible for corporate finance and strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and will oversee the company's investments in various subsidiaries. She will report to B&N chairman Len Riggio. Before joining B&N, Zilavy had been executive v-p of IBJ Whitehall Bank and Trust company. He will report to B&N CEO Steve Riggio.
