Time Warner's new teenage list, Atom, is launching this month with four new titles, one of which, Mirror Dreams, is by Catherine Webb, who was herself only 14 when it was written. The other titles, on a list that will include both U.K. and U.S. authors, are Francesca Lia Block's Weetzie Bat, Gary Kilworth's Spiggot's Quest and Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game. Commissioning editor Ben Sharpe says that Time Warner's aim is to produce a list that is both sophisticated and imaginative; he hopes to include the best of series publishing as well as original one-off titles.
