Wiseman Goes to S&S

Paula Wiseman, editorial director of Silver Whistle Books at Harcourt Children's Books, will join Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing as editorial director of her own imprint, beginning September 9. She will report to Brenda Bowen, executive v-p and publisher of hardcover books.
Wiseman has been with Harcourt for seven years and founded the Silver Whistle imprint in 1997. Before that she had been at Philomel Books and Dial.
"Simon & Schuster is a great place to make great books," Wiseman said. "I am energized by the exciting opportunity of working with the talented people at S&S."
The authors and illustrators Wiseman has worked with include Elise Primavera, Stephen T. Johnson, Jerdine Nolen and Stephen Gammell.
