On the Move

by Judith Rosen -- Publishers Weekly, 9/30/2002

Over the summer, several publishers changed distributors in preparation for the holiday selling season. Fair Winds Press, the New Age–oriented imprint of Rockport Publishers in Gloucester, Mass., is now distributed by F&W Press in Cincinnati, Ohio, which also handles distribution for parent company Rockport. Fair Winds was previously with Tuttle Publishing.

Words Distributing Company in Oakland, Calif., announced that it added four independents to its client list. New publishers include Toronto-based Napoleon Publishing, which specializes in books for children and young adults, and its adult imprint, RendezVous Press, which publishes both nonfiction and mysteries; cookbook publisher Silverback Books in San Francisco; Simply Read Books in British Columbia, which was recently honored by the American Institute of Graphic Arts for its new edition of Pinocchio; and Yellow Moon Press in Somerville, Mass., which has an extensive selection of storytelling books, cassettes and CDs.
