Flood to Head Kids' Paperbacks

Eloise Flood has been named to the newly created position of v-p and publisher of the paperback division of Simon & Schuster's children's publishing division. Flood, who will join S&S October 22, will oversee the Aladdin Paperbacks and Simon Pulse imprints. S&S created the paperback division earlier this year (News, June 10), but the publishing position had not been filled.
Flood is currently editorial director of 17th Street Productions, a division of Alloy Online, where she helped develop such teen novels as The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Gossip Girl. She will report to Kristina Peterson, president of the S&S children's publishing division.
